The beginning
Three ski instructors – Loïc David, Jacques Martin and Gabriel Pellicot – came up with the idea of improving their comfort during ski excursions. Once they were happy with the results, they decided to share their success with as many people as possible by creating the SIDAS WORLD Group in 1975. They went on to develop and market a solution to improve foot comfort while skiing: the moulded insole.
In the early 1980s, orthopaedic surgeons and doctors became aware of this new technology, and asked for it to be made available to the medical field. Led by Patrick Boismal, the PODIATECH medical brand was born, offering solutions tailored to foot health professionals.
In 2003, the company was handed over to three executive directors: François Duvillard, Jean-Pierre Delangle and Thierry Ravillion.
CSR engagement
Podiatech is committed to CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility – and wants to act responsibly, helping to ensure that everyone can live life to the fullest, supported by solutions tailored to their feet and body.
A number of initiatives have been implemented to reduce the company's carbon footprint, including reducing the use of paper and energy-efficient renovations of production buildings. These initiatives include an eco-materials charter, developed to enable us to assess the status of local production and the environmental impact of our materials at a glance.
Increasingly innovative product ranges
For over 40 years, our R&D department has been committed to providing foot health professionals with a wide range of unique materials, as well as thermoforming and analysis machines for precise clinical examination and optimised insole design.
We are lucky enough to test our innovative materials and machines at our sports orthopaedics centre in Voiron. This testing provides rapid feedback on our products, in addition to constant communication with practitioners and their patients. Our product ranges are constantly enriched to ensure that they are as comprehensive and innovative as possible.
Sharing our know-how
Podiatech has been supporting practitioners throughout their careers since 1985, offering training courses all around the world. These courses are a vessel to share our expertise in podiatry and chiropody with professionals. Our aim is to provide a more in-depth understanding of our techniques, such as thermoforming.

Over the years, our international approach has allowed us to develop solutions to meet different needs around the world. We are present in more than 60 countries, and more than 9,000 customers already trust us to support them on a daily basis.
