PODIAFIBER® HARD: A Podiatech Innovation
We have recently developed the PODIAFIBER® Hard resin, which is designed with fibreglass and offers excellent foot support. An innovation in terms of podiatry materials. It is extremely rigid, which means that sportsmen and women such as cyclists can have a sole that is perfectly suited to their activity. Furthermore, its low heating temperature of 85°C means it can be moulded directly onto the foot for greater accuracy when creating the insole.
We can confirm that for a 1mm thickness equivalence, PODIAFIBER® Hard resin has a stiffness index two to three times greater than its counterparts, such as PODIAFLEX® or even PODIAFLEX® on hard fabric, being materials composed of carbon fibre and not fibreglass.
This material is used for ultra-rigid support of the foot and also when there is very limited space in the footwear, as is the case for activities such as cycling or skiing. Major cycling teams such as Groupama-FDJ and Astana use this resin for their riders during races and training sessions. In fact, its thin and extremely rigid appearance makes it a material particularly suitable for bicycle shoes and for pedal movement. This applies particularly when this movement does not involve taking steps and there is a need to restore energy and dynamism.
Other uses, in the context of specific activities or corrections required for a precise pathological treatment, make it a particularly suitable material. Particularly so when the search is for the combination of thinness and ultra-rigidity as well as the use of thermoforming directly under the patient's foot.
Available in 1mm and 0.7mm, you can combine it to find the rigidity required and play on its bi-colour sides to make it a technical and design element.
