What is Handicap International?

As Sabrina Manseur from Handicap International explains: "For over 40 years, we have been working in areas affected by conflict, natural disasters, poverty, and exclusion. We work with disabled people and vulnerable populations to improve their living conditions."

The association runs over 450 projects in 60 countries around the world. Rescue, defence, inclusion, care, orthopaedics, protection and mine clearance are all part of its remit.

Where standing tall is not straightforward... rehabilitation, the core expertise of Handicap International since its inception, is part of a comprehensive approach towards the autonomy of people with disabilities. This is one of the fundamental missions of the NGO, one of the pioneers of humanitarian rehabilitation in the context of development, natural disasters or armed conflict.

The NGO highlights a message that serves as their daily guiding principle: "Standing Tall", aimed at enabling beneficiaries to:

  • Regain their mobility
  • To live with dignity by regaining control of their lives and being independent, whether that means getting a new job or going back to school.

Our partnership with Handicap International:

The mission of Sidas World is: "We make a sustainable contribution to ensuring that everyone can enjoy life to the full, through adapted solutions for their feet and body.

Our raison d'être, combined with Handicap International's message "Standing Tall," resonates with us as we work closely with foot professionals to enable as many people as possible to improve their daily lives through the use of foot-related solutions.

That's why, for this 17th year of support for the association we have organised an "every step counts" challenge within the company, as proposed by Handicap International. The aim was to walk as a team to reach certain milestones that would unlock donations for the association. All employees of the group rallied for this challenge, enabling us to achieve:

  • A total of 25,262,712 steps
  • A total distance of 17,684km

We are delighted to have been able to contribute in a unique way through this challenge to the pooled funds of Handicap International, which help allocate donations where they are most urgently needed and have the greatest impact.

If you, as an individual, also wish to support this organisation like us, you can:
